Website redesign in Kelso and the Scottish Borders

If your website looks dated, is slow on a phone, is hard to edit or simply does not bring in enquiries, it can be improved without starting from nothing. I redesign and take over websites for businesses across the Borders, keep what still works and protect the Google rankings you already have.

Signs it is time

When a website needs more than a tidy-up

Most people who ask about a redesign say one of the same few things: the site looks old next to competitors, it is awkward to use on a phone, nobody can find it on Google, or the person who built it has gone and nobody can change anything.

Each of those has a different fix. A site that is only hard to find may need local SEO and nothing else. A site that cannot be edited may need moving to something you control. A site that looks dated and loses visitors on a phone usually needs a proper redesign.

The free Website Health Check is how we find out which one you have, before you spend anything.

A recent example

Luuni, a children’s party venue that used to trade as Party Panda, came with an old site and an old name. It now has a new brand and a new site with live availability, online booking and a panel the owners run themselves. See luuni.lv.

How it works

What a redesign includes

A redesign is not a new coat of paint on the same problems. These are the parts that make the difference.

Keep what works

Your text, photos, reviews and the pages people already visit are kept and improved, not thrown away. Nothing is lost because the design changed.

Protect your rankings

Every old address that has visitors or links is redirected to its new page, so Google and returning customers land in the right place. After launch the new site goes into Google Search Console.

Built for phones and for Google

A fast, clear layout on a phone, a call or enquiry button on every page, and the local search foundations: structured data, page titles for your towns and services, and a sitemap.

You own the finished site outright, with the domain and content in your name. If someone else built your current site, I help you get the domain and logins back first.

Published prices

What a redesign costs

A redesign is priced like a new site, because most of the work is the same. These are the Founding Client Rates, with no monthly fee required.

  • Launch, £399: a clean, fast redesign of a small site
  • Grow, £729: more pages and the full local SEO foundation
  • Flagship, £1,345: a fully bespoke site with the AI website assistant included
  • Local SEO & AI-Visibility Boost, £245: no redesign, just making the site you have easier to find

Only need it to be found?

If the site itself is fine but nobody finds it, a redesign is the wrong spend. Local SEO for Scottish Borders businesses explains what moves a local ranking.

Love it or don’t pay

If you do not like the first design concept and say so in writing within 5 working days, the deposit is refunded in full.

Website redesign questions

How much does a website redesign cost in the Scottish Borders?

A redesign is priced the same way as a new site, because most of the work is the same: Launch is £399, Grow £729 and Flagship £1,345 at the Founding Client Rate. If the site only needs to be found more easily, the Local SEO & AI-Visibility Boost is a one-off £245 and leaves the design as it is. The free Website Health Check tells you which applies before you pay anything.

Can you improve my existing website rather than replace it?

Yes. The content and the parts that still work are kept, and the structure, speed, mobile layout and local search foundations are improved. If the site is built on a platform that cannot sensibly be fixed, I will say so and explain why a rebuild is cheaper.

Will I lose my Google rankings if my website is redesigned?

Not if it is done carefully. Every old address that has visitors or links is redirected to its new page, page titles that already rank are kept or improved, and the new site is submitted to Google Search Console after launch.

Can you take over a website someone else built?

Yes. Sites built on WordPress, Wix, Squarespace or by another designer can be taken over. You need access to the domain, or to the person who controls it, and I help you get it back if a previous designer still holds it.

How long does a website redesign take?

A typical redesign is launched within 10 working days of the content being ready, the same as a new site. The old site stays live until the new one is approved.

Do you redesign websites outside Kelso?

Yes. Cheviot Web Studio is based in Kelso and works across the Scottish Borders, including Galashiels, Hawick, Melrose, Jedburgh, Peebles, Selkirk, Duns, Coldstream and Eyemouth, as well as Berwick-upon-Tweed and north Northumberland. Businesses elsewhere in the UK can be helped remotely.
